What Do We Believe?

‘Belief’ is not as an important word to Unificationists as it might be to some other people. The reason for this is to be found in the nature of the Divine Principle. Recognising that in this age we need to move towards a view of life that can accommodate the rational world of scientific truth as well as a deep knowledge of spiritual reality, ‘understanding’ and ‘practice’ are words that tend to figure more prominently in the lives of Unificationists.
What is the Divine Principle?
It is human nature to try to make sense of our experiences and the world in which we live. This is also what scientists, philosophers, theologians and psychologists try to do. We ask ultimate questions such as what is the purpose of life? If God exists why do people suffer? Why did God create human beings? What is right and wrong?
What Do Unificationists Do?
Unificationists come from all walks of life. You won’t find anything unusual about their appearance or dress to distinguish them from others, and as the majority are working people they could be businessmen, lawyers, doctors, students, social workers, counsellors, politicians, entrepreneurs, bankers, nurses, bus drivers, musicians – almost any job you could think of.
Who are True Parents?
God is the True Parent of all human beings and loves each person uniquely and personally as his son or daughter. God, who is invisible, longs to experience everything substantially, dwelling in and through every human being. The first person to became completely one with God, or indeed the incarnation of God, was Jesus. Thus Jesus and the Holy Spirit became the True Parents giving rebirth, love and new life to all who believe in them.

T he Family Federation is made up of individuals and families throughout the world, a community of faith for whom the teaching and example of Sun Myung Moon and his family hold a special place.

T he Family Federation is a movement to encourage spiritual maturity in the individual and to promote the value of the extended family – exercising our God-given potential and thereby enabling society to function well.

T he purpose of the Family Federation’s combined efforts is to foster a ‘culture of heart’ where all people can live together peaceably, consigning the barriers of race, religion, culture and nationality to the history books. Now is the time for us to live in harmony with each other and with the natural world.
